Daniel Trusted God in The Details of Life
Daniel 6:10 (KJB) Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
Isn’t it so easy to get lost in the myriad of details in this busy life?
Here was Daniel, a young man in the best years of his life, who was being held captive in a strange land in a foreign country. It would have been so easy for him to get lost in the specifics of his captivity rather than seeing the big picture that God was with Him.
How often do you and I lose our focus upon the power and presence of God? We get sidetracked by trying to manage the smallest of details and in handling the many interruptions of life.
Daniel remained close in his personal relationship with God despite any circumstances at work in his life. Though he was a stranger in this land God remained closed by his side, reachable at any moment in prayer, and Daniel continued to praise Him and give Him thanks while standing in the pits of life rather than enjoying the prime of his life.
We can learn and apply many good lessons from the life and book of Daniel. This verse encourages us to keep our attention squarely upon God rather than shifting our focus from Him to self and contemplating upon our problems rather than giving praises to God in the dark and desperate details of life.
