Dead Men Walking According to the Truth of Scripture

Dead men did walk about according to scripture.

All things must reconcile aligning up with the Truth of God’s Word.  Everything is measured according to the plumb line God has set forth for us to follow; including what we allow our eyes to see, our ears to hear, and permit to play upon the big screen in our mind; directing our thought life and influencing our inward and outward actions in this life.  Compromise begins when a person allows themselves to wander from the center; to the left or right veering off the narrow pathway according to the straight and narrow truth of God’s Word.

God beseeches mankind to think about or dwell upon things that are good and full of His light refraining from all appearance of evil and darkness:

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. (Philippians 4:8-9 KJV)

Abstain from all appearance of evil. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5:22-23 KJV)

The god of this world always has a counterfeit agenda offering darkness and evil waiting to subvert man’s attention away from God’s Truth onto his vile evil and wickedness; the agenda is often subtle at first, but soon cultivates into a full-fledged scheme or dose.  Bogus agendas are often introduced to mankind through books, television, radio, commercials, advertising, and many facets of the internet.  The devil carefully utilizes all forms of media man often employs for good to alternately bring forth many types of filth digested through the eye and ear gates of susceptible persons; pouring fourth this sinful darkness into the world who welcomes this dark entertainment with wide open arms causing many to fall head over heel further into this web of darkness.  Many fall into this web of destruction without giving any further thought or premise of the Truth of God’s Word in light of these abounding evil works.

A television series depicting walking dead men is all the rage today.  This series is set in the time of the apocalypse.  The apocalypse is the time after the return of Jesus Christ.  This is a time yet to happen in the future.   This is a time not look forward to or be fascinated about in any way or fashion.  The truth is this will be a time of extreme evil and darkness never seen or experienced upon this earth.  This will be a time that all those who are born again spiritually alive in Christ will already be present in Heaven and the devil, or god of this world will release untold and unimaginable forces of evil upon this earth.  Those who are left behind will be facing horror at a level not even able to be imagined, captured, or replicated by Hollywood or television producers with a creative bent towards evil.

The “survivors” portrayed as left upon this earth are existing amid zombie-like creatures walking about biting and feasting upon humans who are solely living in a human survivor mode.  Many are drawn into this series by these horrific and dramatic events these survivors face as they are in the middle of these evil forces.

What these craftily scripted events fail to mention is individuals left behind on this earth, after the first coming of Jesus, are destined to fall into the fires of Hell.  Before the second coming of Jesus Christ, very few who are left behind will have an opportunity to come to personally know the Savior amidst these horrific events near the end of the world. The devil and all his minions are released from their chains, unchecked, for a thousand year reign of terror upon this earth.

The Bible does mention dead men walking but casts them in an altogether different light.  Not the light of a movie camera but in the light of God’s Word:

And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. (Matthew 27:52-53 KJV)

These dead men were resurrected from their grave as Jesus proclaimed spiritual separation from God upon the cross at His physical death as great earthquake trembled; releasing these dead men from their temporary graves.  These dead men were resurrected saints from the Old Testament brought forth by the power of God from their earthen grave unto spiritual life with God for all eternity in Heaven.  These dead men walking were saints not zombies.

Old Testament saints, saved by faith, upon physical death, went to their grave in a temporary place because there was no heavenly realm yet in existence for them to go at the end of their physical life upon earth.  The spiritually saved saints of the Old Testament went first to a place called paradise or Abraham’s Bosom, described in Luke chapter 16, which had a fixed gulf between the saints and the spiritually dead lost souls eternally resting in the fires of Hell.

Those saints; the likes of Stephen, Jacob, Moses, Joseph, Ruth, Rahab, and many other spiritual greats mentioned in the Bible who occupied this temporary place called Paradise were resurrected from their graves unto God through the work of His Son Jesus Christ who had paved the way through His death on the cross through His precious shed blood and free gift of the Holy Spirit for all saints, including you and I, to spend eternity with God in the heavenly realm.

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: (Ephesians 2:1-2 KJV)

Now when you and I die after having been quickened alive spiritually while upon this earth do immediately go to the heavenly realm upon our physical death.  Men no longer go to a temporary place called Paradise.

Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. (2 Corinthians 5:5-9 KJV)

Finally, because we have been made spiritually alive unto Christ while living upon this earth we do have His Spirit living inside of us.  With His presence dwelling in us we see the things of this world in a different light.  His light accompanied by an understanding of His Word enables the studied man to better discern good from evil.

For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. (Hebrews 5:13-14 KJV)

God clearly warns us of impending evil the god of this world will continually shower down worse and worse upon this earth as we sojourn here.  God has given mankind all the biblical tools needed to live in victory; being made aware of the presence of many dark evil showers existing all about us.

God tells us to test the spirits:

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1 KJV)

God also warns us that in these latter days not all who profess to be of God are of God or will continue on living in the faith:

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; (1 Timothy 4:1 KJV)

But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. (2 Timothy 3:13 KJV)

Those who have professed to be of God hear Him with their ears; and see his light with their eyes as He clearly tells us in His Word:

We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error. (1 John 4:6 KJV)

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. (1 Thessalonians 5:21 KJV)

God tells us to make our foundation sure and rooted deeply and stable in His ways so that we do not get caught up in the twisted teachings and false doctrine permeating this world.  The world offers man many choices that quickly steer him off track from God’s will or course for his life.  The Bible clearly warns man to dig deeply into God’s Word establishing convictions and truths rooted firmly to keep from being spoiled by captivating darkness allowing it to soak through our susceptible eyes and ears with the many evil forces at play in this world.

Philosophy and man’s traditions easily entrench themselves inwardly in a man who has compromised himself with a flimsy foundation rather than the solidity of the Truth of God’s Word. Compromise leads down the slippery slope and away from God allowing man to crave an existence filled with all sorts of imaginations and evil abounding including the liked of dabbling in new age beliefs, meditation (the new age prayer),  yoga, Reiki, karma, hypnosis, massage, reincarnation, music therapy, dabbling in spirits, participating in the celebration of evil spirts in holidays such as Halloween and enjoying entertainment which highlights the throes of darkness and evil powers at work upon this earth.

Your ear gate and eye gate are naturally susceptible to darkness and evil.  Be busy about burying God’s Word in your heart and wearing the armor of God about as you combat the many evil forces at play in this world that seek to gain your undivided attention. Do not allow the evil of this world to entertain your mind; keep it filled with the goodness of God allowing it to bring about peace and joy in your life now and for all eternity.
