Dead To Sin and Alive In Christ
September 02, 2020
Romans 6:8 (KJV) Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him.
This brief verse states that every child of God is dead to sin, to self, to this world, and alive to things of Christ. That is quite a spiritual treasure chest to digest! It sounds more complicated than it really is, especially when a person takes time to dig into the heart of this message. Even better is when a person desires to apply it to his or her life.
To be dead in Christ is to be spiritually alive in Christ. It is to set self aside and to put on the character of Christ. Please do not consider this to be a death sentence but a new eternal outlook on everlasting life!
This verse exclusively points to living forever with Christ. Contrast this good news about eternal life in Christ with choosing to remain dead in sin along with a sentence of eternal death. They stand at opposite ends of the spiritual spectrum.
I hope that you have died with Christ and have risen to live with Him forever upon physical death from this world. Or be ushed into heaven in sweet fellowship with God upon the return of Christ to this wicked world.
