Death and Everlasting Life
1 Corinthians 15:21-22 (KJB) For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
The first Adam in the Old Testament ushered in death in order to bring new life.
The second Adam in the New Testament paved the way for eternal life.
Who was this mediator between sin and eternal life? It was Jesus Christ, the second Adam who paved the way for the salvation of souls and eternal resurrection from death unto life. Every soul who places faith in the finished work of Calvary will be made spiritually alive in Christ.
The first Adam of the Old Testament was a shadow or a picture of Jesus Christ in the New Testament. These truths contained in these verses are deep theological truths that cannot be found or understood by lukewarm hearts who either ignore or hastily skim vital scripture passages. Understanding greater truth requires a prayerful connection to God and desire to learn valuable gems such as this that undeniably tie together the Old and New Testament passages along with the deity of God, a clear illustration of life, death, sin, and the necessity of being resurrected unto new life.
God’s Word is a vital spiritual asset in understanding God, death, and eternal life. In fact, it is a valuable gift that keeps on giving beyond the surface. No man can fully appreciate or understand this side of heaven all the precious truth contained in scripture.
