Delighting Greatly

Psalm 112:1 (KJB) Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

You read that right… “delighteth greatly in his commandments…”

Ouch, when that sinks into your mind, it might sting a bit.

God not only expects His spiritual family to delight in His commandments but to cherish His authority and rule in their life.  A child of God will find pleasure in His decrees rather than consider them grievous.  Each sincere hearted person desires to follow God wholeheartedly picking up their cross as a testimony to the goodness and grace of God to this dark hate-filled world.

Indeed, a humble and godly mindset stands in opposition to lost and wayward hearts busy working evil in this world.  The prevalent attitude towards governance, laws, and decrees of God on this earth is one of defiance and distance from God.  Yes, many people enjoy being a rabble-rouser rather than submitting to the way of God.  It is quite natural for lost hearts to look for loopholes and open doors to escape the pull of their conscious and to quiet their restless and lost hearts towards God.

Such people attempt to escape this wickedness by choosing to fall into the grip of alcohol, drugs, illicit behavior, or in doing good works, being moral, busyness, and such, but none of these things can take the place that God is meant to occupy inside spiritually softened hearts.  A sincere child of God is not afraid to face the truth about himself and to recognize the holy character of God when it smacks him or her in the face.

Every sincere child of God naturally desires to delight in God.

Opposition to the law of God is naturally at work inside every lost heart from birth.

Lost hearts look for loopholes to escape the call and commandments of God and beckon their allegiance with the god of this world.  A sincere child of God desires to identify with Him and to fulfill His will and way in his or her life in the short time he or she is physically alive on this earth.
