Divine Order, Godliness, and Longevity Go Hand in Hand
Exodus 20:12 (KJB) Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
There is a divine order to living successfully in this world. Trying to do it any other way never brings eternal success, in this world or for eternity.
First, emphasis must be placed on the foundation God has set firmly in place. Second this foundation must be the building block of the home, and third, it must be the order of a nation. If God is missing in any part of this spiritual equation, the entire structure crumbles.
If the home is in disorder so, then the nation is spiritually weak and wobbly.
Strong parental influence in modeling the humbleness and righteousness of God works to curb and often curtail the natural bent of a young child. However, on the other hand, parental indulgence builds upon his or her natural propensity towards sin and disobedience to things of God.
Honoring God first, honoring parents, and other people in places of authority aligned with God all go hand in hand into fashioning a child who sincerely loves God and desires to serve Him with his or her heart. Alternately, Ignoring God, disregarding one’s parents and church elders, choosing to agree with the nature of the god of this world usher in absolute misery, destruction, and death.
Honor God, parents, and authority on this earth (unless this authority disagrees with the nature of God) and live an honorable life in perpetual sweet service to God. However, if you choose to dishonor God, your parents, and serve the darkness of the god of this world and be hostile to things of God this will leave your heart spiritually unregenerate and an eternal enemy of God.
