Philippians 4:17-19 (KJV) Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
That’s right; as these verses and many other scriptures clearly state, it is all about Him. God is the divine gift-giver, not our government, not our family, not our spouse, or our family and friends, and especially not Santa Clause. Though many people close to us give lovely gifts, no present is ever quite the same or as satisfying as the gift of life and the lasting provisions of God.
Today, December 25th, let us keep God and His precious Gift in a proper spiritual perspective. Take a moment to think of God sending His Only Son to be born on this earth. Also, consider for a moment that Jesus Christ was willing to leave the spiritual splendor of Heaven to be alive both spiritually and physically on this earth. Not only that but that Jesus Christ was willing to provide Himself as a shed-blood sacrifice on Calvary so that you and I can place faith in His finished work and live forever.
Spend some time rejoicing about the riches of God as you enjoy a Christmas day by celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ into this world, spending time with family, and in the exchanging of presents.
Yes, God is the divine supplier. You can receive from Him everything that you need according to His riches made possible by His Only Son Jesus Christ. Enjoy this day meant to honor the earthly birth of Jesus Christ as you reflect on the eternal message of God’s goodness and grace.
Merry Christmas and God bless you!
