Biblical Wisdom Wednesday for Common Questions of Life
Hebrews 11:1 (KJB) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Do You Have An Endless Window of Faith for the Future?
Faith sees God working in the future, but harboring doubt keeps a person looking around at multiple desperately dismal circumstances in this word. Lack of faith drives a person to glance behind at his unforgiven past using the rear-view mirror of life. Doing so often presents us with vivid reminders about our past fumbles and utter failures leaving no room for hope for the future.
While history is always a powerful reminder of former actions and situations, it does not have to have any bearing on the hope of present circumstances. In fact, God can remove your past wiping your slate clean and clearing an eternal way forward through the fuel of faith. Faith in God and His forgiveness provides a supernatural eraser for any past.(1st John 1:9).
Faith placed erroneously in anything else other than God will have no lasting effect. It is only when a man, woman, or child choose to trust in the finished work of Calvary through faith that it will change the things he or she hopes for. Faith in any other provision or person is only a temporary appeasement in this dark and wicked world and any misplaced confidence will always let a person down, often with a great thud!
Faith in God allows an eternal viewpoint or an endless window into the future. Faith makes room for God to will and work in our life; past, present, and our future. An eternal viewpoint relies upon God’s supernatural power and presence rather than foolishly attempting to rely upon ourselves by leaning upon palpable things in this world which will be destroyed.
