Do You Him Haw Around and Hesitate When God Directs?
And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me. (Genesis 22:12 KJV)
God ultimately did not ultimately desire to have Abraham’s son Isaac as a sacrifice. God knew that if Abraham was willing to give his only son that he had his heart. It was Abraham’s heart that God desired to indwell and direct according to His will upon Abraham’s life.
God will use whatever means necessary in our life for the purpose of getting our immediate attention upon Him rather than what is going on in the world around us. God did just that with Abraham. He used a “spiritual test” of allegiance. Abraham had a strong and robust commitment to the will of God and passed this test with flying colors.
Abraham chose to be obedient to God, even when he did not know or understand God’s purpose. Abraham placed unwavering faith in God by living obediently to Him and be willing to give God his all at whatever cost necessary. Including the ultimate cost of his son, without wavering, hesitation or questioning the direction or motive of God.
