Don’t Let Your Carcass Fall in The Wilderness

Don’t Let Your Carcass Fall in The Wilderness

Hebrews 3:17 (KJB) But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

Most people have acquainted themselves with the Old Testament account of the Israelites Exodus from Egypt.  However, perhaps, not many are personally familiar with vital details that can and should be applied to their life today.

You see, both the Old and New Testament have been recorded for historical relevance, our study, and our adoption as applicable.  God did not include anything in His Word, which is just filler or ambiguous words.  No, God included immediate context, historical elements, and applicable lessons for us today.

There are many biblical-based experiences we can study and apply in our lives today.  Indeed you likely know that many of the Israelites left Egypt on a journey that took them forty years across the desert land. Which, by the way, was a rather short journey that took them years! Not only that, but many of these people never were able to set foot into the Promised Land.  Why?  Because they failed to place faith in what Moses told them, ultimately the truth and direction given by God. Instead, they chose to walk in circles, all the while whining in the desert without ever reaching their intended destination.

The next verse from this chapter of Hebrews tells us all we need to know about the spiritual state at work in these ancient Israelites:

Hebrews 3:19 (KJB) So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

The same is true today.  Because of rampant unbelief, many a man or woman who has died, or may die in the next instant, sadly will be denied an eternal rest in heaven because of unbelief.  Ouch, perhaps that truth stings harshly.  It is true; there are many carcasses heaped outside of heaven, then and now, merely because of not placing trust in God for His direction and outcome.

God desires that each soul returns to Him, to He, who is their Maker.  Yes, He wants every soul to return to Him as their body be placed in the grave, as was the example set forth by Jesus Christ.  God does not desire that your body piled up as a carcass in the desert, and your soul sent to Hell forever.  Believe in Him today (Hebrews 4:7), while there is still time for the salvation of your soul.
