Isaiah 1:19 (KJB) If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.
This verse is sandwiched in between a litany of verses where God is speaking to the hearts of the people of Judah. Though these words were spoken and recorded in ancient times, they are still relevant to the heart and mindset of each of God faring individual today.
First, God beckons a person to come, to get their heart cleansed, or consecrated, by Him, and to choose to live in obedience to Him. It is a process to eat the good of the land. God does not ordinarily hand out His best food to everyone. God has particular “if” and “when” expectations and requirements.
In this verse, recorded above, God begins to illustrate what a man can expect when choosing right and godly living. The opportunity to eat the good from the land.
“If ye…” places a condition on the potential of eating the good of the land. God’s table is set, and His great feast is given, most often, as certain conditions are met.
“If ye be willing and obedient…”The words willing and obedient are used to describe the behavior and attitude God expects from godly submissive hearts. God desires to reward each of His spiritual family with eating good, spiritually speaking.
God rewards willing and obedient hearts with the good of the land. If you desire the best of the best, a satisfying spiritual feast, God has given us His divine spiritual recipe for personally gaining such a splendid banquet.
