Empty Professions Do Not Personally Involve God
Matthew 7:21 (KJB) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Professing Christ is not the same as genuinely knowing Christ. One leads to a personal relationship with Him and an eternal home in heaven. The other leads to an empty hope and a permanent home among the fires of hell forevermore.
Not all individuals who profess a personal relationship with Jesus Christ really do know Him personally in their heart. How can you know the difference between a professing sincere child of God and one voicing an empty claim about personally knowing Him? Well, that’s a tough one as no man can discern the heart condition of any other person for his or her spiritual condition is only evident to God.
However, God clearly spelled out many familiar indicators in His Word for us which will be evident in the life of a sincere child and wiling servant of God. This includes the natural blooming of His Spirit unfolding with a natural desire to serve God rather than the god of this world, acknowledging His Truth by profession and application, wrapped up in a strong desire to live in obedience to His Word.
