Every Idle Word
Matthew 12:36 (KJB) But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
If you are like many people your speech flow runs fluid, rolling right off your tongue. Likely, even professing Christians have times or seasons where they give little or no thought to the words they speak or how their words will affect others, and especially what it sounds like to the holy ears of God.
Some people in this world are so bold with their speech it may seem like they can repeatedly “get away” with speaking cruel, rude, and crude words. It may seem as if it really does not matter at all what a person has to Say for so many are routinely speaking with loose and immoral lips.
However, every person’s choice of words is important each time they open their mouth. There is no such thing as free speech for God tells us that EVERY word is one hundred percent accountable to Him.
Yes, God cares a great deal about every word a man or woman, lost or saved, chooses to speak.
God gave us His Word which is full of precepts and commandments to apply to every aspect of our life including our speech. There is no such thing as an idle word as every word we utter crosses the holy ears of God. Every man will give an account of his every idle word.
