Forbid Him Not
Luke 9:49-50 (KJB) And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us. 50 And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.
Often a man gets comfy in what he intuitively knows and has been taught. He is often content with breaking God’s love down to a denomination, or a fixed set of beliefs, rather than a teaching about a relationship resting on nothing more than personal faith in the finished work of Calvary laced with His unconditional love and grace.
Yes, it is easy to get so wrapped up in what we think is right that we often can lose sight of the big spiritual picture of what is biblically right and exactly how God works.
Sometimes we create imaginary walls because of denominations or traditions that were never present to start with. If we are all genuine professing Christians that desire to preach and teach according to God’s Word – we should also desire in our softened hearts to act like Him.
A man cannot “wear the identity of God” and choose to act like a man of this world.
Not one man or denomination has the absolute answers about God aside from knowing and teaching what has been divinely recorded in His Word for our learning. It is God’s Word which carries the absolute Truth and authority of God, a godly man applies both proper teaching and application of God’s truth to others in this world.
A man should not forbid another man who is indeed inside God’s spiritual army. Every soldier is needed and necessary for these many dark spiritual skirmishes for the purpose of bringing about honor and glory to God.
