Free From Condemnation
Romans 8:1-4 (KJV) There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Through God’s inspiration, the Apostle Paul sets the record straight about condemnation and the spiritual state of genuine believers. In other words, those who have been both consecrated and covered in the blood of Jesus Christ have no lingering conviction for previously confessed sin.
Many “finger-pointers” wage spiritual war on professing Christians by wagging their finger towards sin from their past life formerly confessed to God. This kind of behavior does not match biblical truth nor sit well with God, for God both forgives and forgets confessed sin; 1st John 1:9 tells us about His relief valve for removal of sin. All any person needs to do is consider the great evil working in Saul’s former sin-filled life, now known as the Apostle Paul, to determine that one’s past choices do not reflect the current spiritual state of a regenerated soul.
I hope these verses are like a balm to your soul and work to soothe any misinformation concerning sin, condemnation, and God’s forgiveness. Any sincere child of God confesses sin and allows God to remove it as far as East is to West. Just consider the spiritual turnaround in the life of the Apostle Paul in ancient biblical times, from great sinner to serving and savoring God free from condemnation.
