From All to All
Isaiah 53:6 (KJB) All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
This verse, Isaiah 53:6, is an Old Testament prophecy concerning sin and Christ, and it starts with “all” and ends with “all.”
It is like a delicious spiritual sandwich with two thick buns and a generous helping of meat in the center. Ah, can’t you picture it, a delightful Italian sub or a juicy quarter-pound hamburger, or whatever your favorite sandwich may be, just ready for you to take a satisfying bite! The effects of this spiritual meal cannot hit the heart of the matter if a person does not personally choose to taste God’s spiritual goodness.
This scripture verse was first a prophecy concerning the sin of the nation of Israel, including the Gentiles, and collectively concerning all sin; whether it be in the past, present, and future. The coming of Jesus Christ and His willingness to follow the will of God for His life was the predicted answer to this prophecy, taking the sting out of sin and death for any person who chooses to consume God’s meal, repent from his sin, and seek future spiritual feasts with God.
The best part- this prophecy has already been fulfilled on Calvary. All the sheep did go astray, and Jesus Christ came to lay the sin of all people on His shoulders. His spiritual work removed the penalty for sin and death for every person who chooses to sincerely turn to recognize God’s way rather than insisting on his or her way.
