From Poverty to Spiritual Riches
2 Corinthians 8:9 (KJB) For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.
A man in his natural state is a spiritual pauper. Every man born in this world has been given a sentence of physical death. In his lost state, since the sin of Adam, he has no possible way of reaching the grace of Jesus Christ and becoming perpetually spiritually rich.
A man, left to himself, will die twice, once physically and secondly, he will remain spiritually desolate inside his heart.
Jesus Christ, who is the gift of God, paved the way to being alive forever. He wrapped His precious gift in the swaddling clothes of a baby and placed Him in a lowly manger among the animals in a barn in Bethlehem in ancient times.
Yes, Jesus Christ left his magnificent throne in heaven to be born as a pauper for you and me. The birth of Jesus Christ was to provide the only way to eternal life for whosoever on the cross of Calvary.
Yes, a man of God lives once and dies twice. Death to self and his physical death will usher a child of God into the eternal realm in spiritual fellowship with God (unless Jesus Christ returns to this earth first). A man who does not personally know God will also arrive in the eternal realm, either upon his death (or upon the timing of God to destroy this world) but having no personal fellowship with God.
There is only one sure avenue which will automatically land a person into heaven and into the arms of God for sweet fellowship forever. That only comes in personally knowing God.
Yes, A person can personally know God, be eternally rich, and live in the eternal victory lane forever. Or a person can choose to ignore God and take the bustling bypass around things of God, and live in great agony among perpetual flames of hell in eternity.
