Matthew 3:8 (KJB) Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance.
Spiritual fruit is anticipated in the life of every sincere professing child of God. This production and harvest are not up for consideration or allowable for professing Christians to choose whether they desire to participate for it is expected of them.
A changed life is expected.
Lack of crops and a harvest always point to a need for personal repentance concerning sin and perhaps spiritual regeneration, or a renewed spiritual agreement with God about sin. You see, sin gets in the way of any meaningful perpetual crops or spiritual harvest failing to result in godly bounty pointing to Him.
A person’s heart cannot be right with God when there is the presence of sin at work in his or her life.
If a person who identifies with Christ and also chooses to continue in his or her sin, his life makes a horrible banner for God serving only to confuse lost hearts who often take mental notes about honesty or lack thereof, found working in the lives of professing children of God. True repentance always produces spiritual fruit and is at work in the lives of sincere children of God.
