Garbage In Garbage Out Rule
Romans 12:2 (KJV) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Conforming to this world means that a person willingly accepts the practices of this world and chooses to comply. In other words, it means aligning with sin and a mindset that agrees with the wicked ways of this world, turning from serving and savoring God. It means that an individual chooses to adapt to the evil ways of this world. Indeed you understand that altering beliefs to fall in line with the mindset of the satan means to disagree with or stand in opposition to God.
Choosing to oppose the mindset of God does impact many areas of one’s life. This stance includes fodder accumulating in and to flow out of his or her mind. This position brings to mind a spiritual quandary, the “garbage in garbage out” rule where an errant spiritual mind is overrun with the world’s garbage, spewing filth outwardly towards others rather than aligning with the nature and character of God.
You see, a person cannot have it both ways- he or she either follows God and aligns with Him, or he chooses to cozy up to the god of this world. It is that simple, for these two mindsets oppose each other resting at opposing ends of the spiritual spectrum.
These verses state unequivocally that a mind in Christ is transformed by the renewing of his or her mind. This transformation is not something that person can do for himself, but it is the inward spiritual handiwork of God. God operates an earthly trash removal service or spiritual renovation. Yes, God specializes in removing our old wicked spiritual state, replacing it with the eternal mind and heart only given by God.
A sincere child of God has allowed the inner presence and power of God to remove the rubbish from this world out of His mind and heart and to replace it with the perpetual state exclusively given by God. Only God’s sanctification can remove the rubbish and replace it with His lasting resources.
