Giving and Receiving Season
Luke 6:38 (KJV) Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
We are at the beginning stage of a holiday season that includes the giving and receiving of gifts in this world. That said, this season of giving and receiving most are familiar with involves commercialism and a man named Santa Claus. While you may provide and receive precious gifts to loved ones and friends, none can compare to the gift of salvation and in savoring and serving Christ daily as you sojourn in this world.
The life of God has no beginning, for, in His Trinity, He was present at the beginning of time. This current season, The Age of Grace will remain until the return of Christ to this world. The giving and receiving spoken of in this scripture verse is not pointing to presents and goodwill or any holiday season. This scripture’s foundation rests in Christ and declares to us that giving to God will always have great rewards. The measure of giving spoken of here is not tied exclusively to our finances but points to all matter of giving from us to God. The results of giving to God and in His provision for us are not related to Wall Street but in the streets of gold in eternity.
Lastly, I hope you know that it is not karma or chance that ever results in real abundance, but lasting wealth and riches rest alone in comprehending and applying the gift of grace and mercy of God.
No person will ever be disappointed in giving to and in receiving of God. He knows just what we need, when we need it, and gives us incredible rewards, both now and for all eternity. God’s cycle of blessing keeps turning and is indeed out of this world!
