God Can Still the Lions In Your Life
Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime. (Daniel 6:10 KJV)
Daniel wasted no time in coming to his knees in prayer when he found out a law forbidding prayer was signed by the King.
The king was tricked into signing this law by a few evil men. However, a law was a law. Daniel immediately turned towards his windows and loudly gave thanks and praise to God, the Ultimate Law Giver, in prayer. Even though it was now not proper or legal according to the law of the world to do so.
What about you- if our government signed a law into effect declaring that praying to God, attending church, or reading your Bible was against the law would that stop you from doing that which is pleasing to God? God is the ultimate authority of man and man often oversteps his boundaries in declaring laws and boundaries which do not align with God’s law.
The new law of the king certainly did not hamper, or put the brakes on Daniel’s robust prayer life. Even though the consequences of breaking this law was to be tossed into the den of lions. This significant penalty seemed to be inviting certain death for anyone who got caught breaking this law, and Daniel did get tossed into the den with lions for his desire to serve God and his uninterrupted prayer life.
God was in the den with Daniel and the lions were prevented from harming Daniel in any way because God put a hedge of protection around hum! God can do the same for you!
