God Changes Lives
John 4:28-29 (KJB) The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men, 29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?
This woman was so excited to tell others about this extraordinary man she had just met! So thrilled in fact, that she left her water pot sit, and hurriedly ran off to the city to tell others about her spiritually profitable encounter with Jesus Christ.
She had come to the well in the middle of the day, as she did often, to fill her water pot. Jesus had asked her for a drink of water. She had marveled at His request, on the surface, it seemed simple, however, it was far from it!
Jesus Christ touched this woman’s life right where she was and opened her eye gate and ear gate to hear and act upon the gospel message. Nothing about her life made Jesus treat her with outrage and disdain. Rather He extended His arms filled to overflowing with unconditional love introducing her to His benevolence covering her in His unlimited mercy and grace.
She ran to tell others: “and saith to the men… Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did…” Yes, this Bible verse declares she spoke to men, not women, about Jesus Christ.
This woman was anxious to speak to others, declaring the truths to these men about how Jesus Christ had changed her life. Perhaps these men knew her so well that her changed life spoke volumes to them changing their lives as well!
The will of God does not always make sense to us because of our limited understanding. We often want to question God or do it our own way rather than rush, as this woman did, to be obedient to His will. God knows best! We just need to place our trust in Him and move our feet according to His direction!
