God Does Not Need Pitbulls
Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
These verses give humanity the character traits of the fruit of the Spirit. An important thing to note is that not one attribute demands His followers be aggressive or mean towards other souls, saved or lost. God calls for quite the opposite demeanor from His spiritual family.
Please understand that God does not call for His children to be weak. Or for them to act as doormats to assaulting words and ways at work in this corrupt world. On the other hand, a Christ-like gentleness can minister grace to hurting and wounded hearts walking in this world. Harsh tones and callousness speak volumes about the state of a professing Christian’s heart.
Just like in this dog eat dog world, the familiar breed of Pitbulls can give all Pitbulls a lousy name and character. However, as many dog lovers know, some pitties are gentle and loving, with only some dangerous and deadly. How can you tell the difference? One way is to watch the tail and other mannerisms any dog will display towards humans and other animals. However, the sad fact is that many people are so scared of this breed that they refuse to have anything to do with them by eliminating this breed from their circle of “dog friends.”
A gentle, loving nature will minister the grace of God to others. A hostile tone will present hate and indifference when pointing to God. Bad participants working in the name of Christ can give all Christians a bad rap.
A few rogue professing Christians who are unkind and unforgiving on a repeated basis will ruin some divine witnessing opportunities for sincere hearted Christians. God calls each of us to mirror the characteristics of the fruit of the Spirit in this world towards others to win souls for God, bringing glory and honor to Him.
