God Sets an Immovable Standard
Isaiah 5:20 (KJB) Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Yes, the Truth of God can seem to be a stubborn thing. It will not budge or buckle! It will not break or be set facing in an opposing direction.
God clearly tells us in His Word that He does not change (Hebrews 13:8). He does not operate on a curve. His scale does not fluctuate.
When God designates something as good, it is good forever. When God makes a declaration about something which is bad, it is bad forever. God’s immovable estimation of all things is steady and spiritually secure and set in place forever. His opinion does not fluctuate with the winds of change or abruptly move to align with wavering opinions of mankind. He does not sway to and fro, constantly shifting back and forth according to the direction of the winds at work in this world.
Light is light and darkness is darkness with God. Good is always found to be good, and evil is always found to be evil. The plumb line of God’s Truth never vacillates but remains sturdy and true despite any circumstances in this world or in eternity.
