God’s Law Brings Liberty
James 2:12 (KJB) So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
The decrees of God and spiritual liberty, pitted against the laws of this world written by mankind, work in opposing directions.
You see, God’s decrees are to direct us and guide us as we sojourn in this world. They give us the freedom to choose our response. However, the laws of this world tell us how to behave and act according to what is socially acceptable. There is a big difference between what actions and motives glorify God and what this wicked world accepts and actively promotes as right and tolerable.
God gives us the liberty to make choices and to choose our actions based on the spiritual condition of the heart.
The laws of this land cause a man to adhere to an expected social norm, often far removed from aligning with the noble character of Christ.
What is the difference between the two ends of the spiritual spectrum?
Those who desire to follow after God and to identify with Him understand that their every word and deed is judged by God. Even further, a child of God realizes if he or she judges himself against the criteria God has set forth, further judgment by God at the end of this age will not be necessary. Judged souls will stand innocent before God and ushered by into eternity inside sweet fellowship with Him.
Those, however, who fail to pass God’s judgment on themselves using the law of God, God will judge harshly at the end of their life in this world.
God’s law brings eternal liberty, while the rules of this world bring bondage and death.
