God’s Music is Refreshing
1 Samuel 16:23 (KJB) And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.
Take a moment to consider the power of music as described in this verse. David played music which caused an evil spirit to depart. Think of the power which was at work here in removing this dark and deadly spirit and refreshing his soul.
Certainly this also alludes to the fact that an opposing force present in other music can be used to invite dark spirits to take up residence inside the heart and affecting the mind of mankind. Music has both good and bad power and is widely available for both good and evil.
There are many wicked spirits at work in this world to deceive and mislead as emotions and feelings are worked up and stirred around with dark and deadly tunes as the devil has a “heyday” with the hearts and souls of many spiritually wayward men and women.
A study of music in the Bible reveals it is a powerful tool used by both satan and God. Man needs to kick his discernment up a notch or two to keep from falling off the edge for the devil’s beat rather than being in harmony with God.
