God’s Plan Has Not Changed
Romans 8:29 (KJB) For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
God set a plan in motion concerning humanity at the beginning of time. His perfect will is for each person to become like Christ. Indeed, you understand that this is an impossible feat outside of personally knowing and serving God, for it is nothing that a person can “put on” him or herself as a piece of clothing.
Secondly, every mention of the firstborn is always pointing to Jesus Christ, who is the firstborn of all. Jesus Christ, born in the flesh, was the first member of the spiritual family of Christ. Today, this spiritual family includes all souls who desire to identify with the nature of Christ.
This verse proves that nothing happens by chance, or is ever a surprise to God. God knows about all things and foreknows the heart condition of every human. This truth matches with the teaching in the Old Testament that God knew each of us before our birth into this world.
Yep, God knew all about you and me. God knows the spiritual state of every heart, whether a person desires to mirror Christ or to subscribe to the evil and corrupt nature of the god of this world.
God’s Son, Jesus Christ, is the firstborn of the brethren. God wants each of us to choose to conform to the image of His Son, Jesus Christ. However, God does not force this identity on any soul. He allows humanity to choose to follow Him or to align with the nature of the god of this world and this was His plan from the beginning.
