Micah 6:8 (KJB) He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Professing to be a child of God is one thing. Living what a person declares is another. It is not choosing to live a life of unfettered freedom. God places some requirements on every sincere child of God.
God expects His own child to do justly. To treat others with fairness and respect.
God expects His child to love mercifully. Loving another individual only when he or she loves you back does not qualify as merciful love. God desires for us to love others unconditionally just like He has loved each of us.
Lastly, God desires for His child to walk humbly. A child of God does not walk with his nose up in the air. He does not walk with an air of superiority. A child of God knows that every man is born a sinner and deserves death for there is no advantage given to any person in God’s spiritual measurement system.
When a man’s heart is genuinely humbled by the power and presence of God, he can naturally be just, loving, and merciful to others just as God through His Son Jesus Christ extended such love to them. A man of God is an ever-maturing image of God to this world.
