James 3:17 (KJV) But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
This scripture, along with wisdom, revealed in Proverbs, as Solomon fittingly sums up the understanding given of God. In Proverbs, this wisdom is sometimes affectionately termed as “she” and shows the value and worth placed on God’s style of wisdom.
This particular verse from James’s book provides us seven descriptive terms for us to comprehend as we apply God’s knowledge in our life. Not only for our comprehension, but these candid terms allow us to reach out appropriately to others with sincerity and to express genuine fruit of the Spirit towards other souls with descriptor words such as peaceable, gentle, easy to be intreated, full of mercy, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. These values imply wisdom complete with the love and respect mirroring the grace and truth of God.
God’s Word has many verses and Proverbs for us to digest concerning the wisdom of God. It is a meal each of us should chew on and vigorously partake, allowing it to filter from our head to our heart and produce a harvest of Christ-likeness at work in our life.
