Grace for the Humble
James 4:6 (KJB) But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
If you believe that anything in this world is higher than the power and presence of God, you need to take a fresh look at the divine nature and character of God. God is all-powerful. There is nothing which can gain the upper hand. Though pride and wickedness are powerful, God’s mercy, love, and grace are always greater.
In fact, God has already defeated the dark and devilish power at work in this world and has the final victory.
This verse tells us that God resists those with prideful hearts. God wounds the pride hearted with the power and presence of Truth. His Truth either causes a man to stumble or to stand tall and identify with Him.
Secondly, it tells us that God gives grace to the humble. Humbled hearts have been softened by the Truth of God and rely upon His abundant grace and mercy as they sojourn in this world.
