Proverbs 15:13 (KJB) A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
I find it quite sad when professing Christians spend all their time making light of current situations with satire. Sarcasm is not suitable in every circumstance of life. God did not call us to make others laugh by making a mockery of this lost world but rather to sow seeds of the gospel message.
God’s Word tells us that It is by sorrow in the heart that an individual’s life can be changed, not by finding humor.
Though it is crucial to have a merry heart, a cheerful countenance, and to radiate with the Lord at work in our lives, humor about every situation of life is akin to making a mockery of sin. Grief about our sin and repentance is necessary for the right spiritual standing with God.
