Hardened Hearts Will Not Prosper
Job 9:4 (KJB) He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered?
A short verse with a strong spiritual message for revealing a critical question each of us should ask ourselves.
Who can prosper without the power and presence of God at work in their heart and life?
If you glance out at the world, you can see many people who seem to have it all, big homes, a fat bank account, a high paying job and such. However, none of these things the world views as great success and prosperity can match the divine blessings, riches, and benefits that God has to offer His spiritual family.
In fact, no man can receive any lasting wealth if he does not personally know and serve God. All things that can accumulate with a Wall Street economy in this world are fleeting. Here for a while and gone in the next moment. The moment a person’s financial bubble bursts or physical death whisks him away, all things except God mean nothing.
Eternal riches and perpetual blessings of God can only be realized by acknowledging Him and allowing His wisdom to work in a softened heart and a renewed mind. Hardened hearts and worldly minds will never prosper.
