Hatred Does Not Frustrate or Foil God’s Plans
And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more. (Genesis 37:5 KJV)
God gave Joseph a special spiritual gift. Joseph had the ability of prophecy through interpreting dreams.
The invisible wall separating Joseph and his brothers widened even further upon Joseph’s reception of this supernatural ability divinely coming to rest on his life. Joseph’s gift was unusual and highly important and therefore caused, even more, friction between him and his brothers.
The brothers could only see Joseph’s life, including his God-given talents, as inhibiting, restrictive, or constraining to their own selfish desires. Joseph was clearly not like them and was considered to be merely standing in the way of their own big dreams and worldly based desires.
Consequently, his brothers began to hate Joseph more and more. They even began to plot his future and theirs without him but God had other plans for all of them.
