He Made Himself Just Like Us
Philippians 2:7 (KJB) But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men.
Jesus Christ removed Himself from the grandeur and splendor of Heaven and was placed on this earth. He left His heavenly palace and came to the pit of this world. God did not drag a trailer filled with things precious to Him, He left all things behind, even His Father.
You and I like to hang onto our “things.” It is a sad fact that many potential servants who hear about God take the time to count the cost of serving Him. Though many determine the cost of serving God is too high, Jesus Christ sweat drops of blood but entertained no thought of backing away from fulfilling the will God placed on His life.
Jesus Christ willingly became nothing, nobody special, and came without anything to this earth. Not only that but He was born as a newborn babe into this world. It was a poor and humble beginning fit for a pauper rather than The King of Kings. Jesus Christ was born just like you and me, but without sin. He was the image of a man in the flesh, but He was God and man at the same time.
Jesus Christ did not balk at the will of God upon His life. He did not question God’s direction or expectations, or what he had to leave the heavenly realm. Jesus Christ was obedient to the will of God, though it was agonizing, He never counted the cost of being obedient.
