His Fan Is In Hand

His Fan Is In Hand

Luke 3:15-18 (KJV) And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of John, whether he were the Christ, or not; John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire: Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable. And many other things in his exhortation preached he unto the people.

These verses found in Luke certainly give us a lot to ponder.  These people approaching John were looking for the Messiah.  Indeed they thought that John was He.  However, John the Baptist immediately set the record straight by emphatically stating that he was not the Messiah, but was personally familiar with Him.

Then John went on to preach to these people, to illustrate the position, action, and character of Jesus, the true Messiah.  John understood and taught others that he, and us today, stand at one end of the spiritual spectrum while Jesus resides at the opposite end in His purity and perfection.  Yes, naturally, humanity stands in opposition to God.

The only way any person can approach God is to allow God to wrap them in His mercy and grace.  Though no man is worthy, God can baptize any humbled soul who comes to Him in faith.  One day every person will meet with God humbled and on bended knee.  At this time yet to come, God will separate those who recognize Him from those who chose to ignore Him.

I hope that you recognize God and choose to serve and savor Him above all.  Only He can cover souls in His lasting grace and perfection and bring eternal salvation to lost hearts.  I hope you understand that each soul will meet with God, with those who are without salvation to face eternal damnation and desperation. In contrast, regenerated souls will fellowship with Him forever.
