His Name Shall Be
Isaiah 9:6 (KJB) For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
This scripture verse was an elegant prophecy revealing a few important details and names of a child.
This verse, along with others served to give the people of that day some great hints regarding the nature of this child to soon be born. Though this information was spoken in ancient times and divinely recorded for us, there was no way for any man to comprehend the entire magnitude of this birth then, or to fully comprehend it now. It did not bring understanding and clarity as to how this child would hold the government on his shoulder. Or reveal every essence of His eternal nature and divulge how this child would pave the way for eternal life for whosoever was willing to place faith in His finished work on Calvary.
Many people believed this child was to be a mightily powered military man who would rule and reign in this world. There was no man who fully understood the total impact that the birth of Jesus Christ would make in this world and in eternity forevermore. Today more has been revealed about God and His Son Jesus Christ but a man will not fully identify who He is until he meets face to face with Him in the eternal realm.
Not only did this verse reveal some great details about Jesus Christ but gave several names for describing who He is:
“and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace…”
The full impact of His birth, and His rule, and reign was not understood in ancient times from the words of this prophecy. Nor is His deity: Jesus Christ, His Spirit, or God fully understood today. Only when a man or woman of God enters eternity will all things of God become apparent.
