Hope Beyond Physical Death
2 Corinthians 5:1 (KJB) For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
This verse from the book of 2 Corinthians contains lasting hope beyond physical death. You see, for genuine professing believers, death is not the end of the road. God did not place a period when life ceases to exist in this world physically.
In fact, for a sincere Christian, when his physical breath ceases on this earth, his spirit is alive and present in the eternal realm.
This verse contains a timeless message for every quickened alive soul to hang onto concerning eternal life. This verse ushers in confident hope for the future of every sincere professing child of God. Aren’t you glad that God saw fit to give us unbreakable confidence about our imminent physical death? Understanding this truth gives a man, woman, and child of God unshakeable faith for their tomorrow, whether they are found alive on earth or physically dead and present in the eternal realm with God.
The natural man cringes and hides from death but a man of God looks forward to the day he will arrive in eternity for Him physical death is not final. Knowing this gives the child of God reason to celebrate! Though his earthly tabernacle, or physical body, will one day wear out or expire in the timing of God, he has a heavenly home awaiting him in eternity.
Death, for a Christian, is not the end of the road. Instead, it is the beginning of his or her eternal journey in sweet harmony with God forever. God promises His spiritual family a forever home not one that ends with his or her physical death in this world.
