“I Am” Not “I Was”
Mark 12:26-27 (KJB) And as touching the dead, that they rise: have ye not read in the book of Moses, how in the bush God spake unto him, saying, I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? 27 He is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.
Jesus Christ is The God of the living not of the dead. He was alive in the time of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and remains alive.
He has always been alive and will always be.
This verse is pointing to the truth that Jesus Christ, as well as spiritually regenerated mankind, have souls which are eternally alive. This speaks of eternal resurrection of the spirit to be in fellowship with God forevermore.
Many people remain spiritually dead having their eyes and ears shuttered tight to truths of God. They have no desire to personally know God or discern spiritual things. They will face eternal separation from God forevermore due to their choice to spiritually err while existing in this world.
Yes! God is alive, not was alive and is now dead. You too can make a choice through faith in the spiritual transaction upon Calvary to live forever in spiritual fellowship with God for all eternity.
