Identify With Christ, Shine Gracefully
2 Corinthians 6:3-4 (KJB) Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed: 4 But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses.
Isn’t it sad that there are so many offensive people living in this world? What is even more tragic is that many proclaiming to be a child of God with their lips fail tremendously in living this claim out in their life. Not only are such people offensive to lost hearts in this world but they portray a terrible insult to the holiness of God. Their words and actions can leave a mar upon the grace of God at work in their life.
God desires that His children be found blameless in this world. To be blameless means to be found innocent of any claim of offense to Christ in this wicked world. It is natural for lost hearts to try and pin false claims upon those declaring themselves to be a child of God; in fact, it is often like a game to lost souls. However, a sincere child of God is naturally found above the evil at work in this world because of the presence of Christ present and working in his or her life.
You see, it is impossible to rightly claim the presence of Christ and be offensive to the cause of Christ. It is like trying to mix oil and water, impossible.
The Apostle Paul gives us in these scripture verses above four specific areas in which the proof our allegiance to Christ will outwardly show: patience, afflictions, necessities, and distresses. Every sincere child of God will glow brightly in the grace of God as he or she sojourns in this world despite the state of his or her affairs.
Innocence before God always paints an illustration of grace at work in the life of a sincere child of God. A genuine child of God always bears the fruit of the spirit at work in his or her heart, whether it be of God or takes on the nature of the god of this world.
