If Ye Abide
John 15:7 (KJB) If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
There is a key word contained in this scripture verse. Abide, what does it mean?
It means to tolerate or bear with.
If a man or woman of God abides in Him it means they will “spiritually blossom” and mature in their new identity with Christ, despite any expected trials and tribulations.
The fifteenth chapter of the book of John, divinely recorded by the Apostle John, explains it this way in verses 4-5: God is the vine and His children are the branches. A branch cannot grow and mature without being fed nutrients vital to its physical health. The vine is a necessity in harboring good health in the branches.
The same can be said about a personal relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ. A man or woman cannot spiritually thrive without having a personal relationship with God. It is vital that each godly man and woman receive his or her necessary spiritual food from God for an eternal benefit in their spiritual life.
