In the Beginning
Genesis 1:2 (KJB) And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
The Bible opens in the beginning with the presence of the Spirit of God moving upon the face of the waters. The earth consisted wholly of water. Did you realize that there were no land masses, people, or creatures? The world had no form such as land, mountains, or plateaus as does exist today.
The presence of God, which was a vapor or breath of wind shining down upon the waters. The Bible states darkness was found in the deep. God’s presence is, was, and always has been on this earth. It was a foreshadowing, or a hint, of His Spiritual presence and preaching ministry of His son to come according to God’s timing and will.
Yes, in the beginning, the earth was a big and vast nothingness. An area filled entirely with water. Today our earth is still mostly covered with water. Instead of nothing, man can now enjoy land as approximately a quarter of the earth is covered with land today thanks to the attendance of God. This act included the presence of God in the Trinity, The Father, The Son, and His Spirit, with His supernatural power and presence, who divinely spoke things into being and created others into existence upon this earth.
