Is Death A Bitter Bite?

Hebrews 2:9 (KJB) But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

The taste of death, what a bitter bite to swallow for many, whether they are facing their death or that of a loved one, death is especially painful and final for lost hearts.  However, death is not the end of the road for any person with an eternal outlook and a spiritually regenerated heart.

The truth is that death does not have to be that way- painful.  The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 that Jesus Christ took the sting out of death.  In other words, as this scripture above states, Jesus Christ tasted death for everyone, and this good news means that no person must ever face death.

What, you say? Death is always a stinging end to a person’s life.  Saying goodbye to a cherished loved one is hard because death is sad and final.  Death is the end of the road.

No, no, no- that is not what God has to say in His Word concerning death.  Death is the beginning of eternal fellowship with God for every sincere child of God.  Death is a sweet morsel with blessings and pleasure forever for every rejuvenated heart.

A child of God looks at death with a different perspective than lost hearts in this world.  Rather than it being a bitter pill to swallow, death is an eternal treat and sweet fellowship with lasting perfection for every spiritually softened soul.  Though souls part for a time upon a loved one’s death, those who personally know God will be reunited one day soon.
