Israel’s Lack of Leadership and Stubbornness

Judges 2:19 (KJB) And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned, and corrupted themselves more than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way.

The death of the judge opened the door wide for stubborn pride and arrogance to have its wicked way in this world.  The historical setting of this verse is about the nation of Israel.  It was about a time when Israel did not have a current reigning king.

However, even in times in which we live, when genuine leadership is lacking, friends of the devil come out to play bringing their stubborn attitudes proudly prating before them.  Deficient godliness and wicked leadership give a wide birth for evil to enlarge and broaden its influence, but God is divinely in control!

No matter whether lackadaisical leadership happened in ancient biblical times, or today, the outcome of sin and wickedness remains the same.  God has already won the final victory and all wickedness has a ceiling, while righteousness succeeds at any level for there is no limit to the supernatural power and presence of God..  Sin is limited to God’s perfect timing in ushering in the end of this world as it stands corrupt and crooked as measured against the holiness and perfection of God.

All mankind, including those in authority positions, will answer to God for their service and leadership, whether it be good or evil in nature.  Since ancient times there has been many wicked reining kings and people of authority at work in this world but God has remained and will always prevail.
