“It is Not for You to Know…”
Acts 1:7-8 (KJB) And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
There are many “Curious George Christians” peddling their self-imposed influence or so-called spiritual expertise. These kinds of foolish people either inquisitively search for signs for coming up with a date for the return of Christ, or they simply pull a random date out of their head in the future, or they profess to hear the voice of God revealing the day the Lord will return.
Gods Word is clear- there is no possible way any person ever has deep insight into the exact day of the coming of the Lord. We do know we are living in the last of the last days and that He will be coming soon, according to God’s supernatural way and timing. However, He is not bound to or boxed into any time frame we are familiar with from a limited viewpoint in this world.
Why may you ask?
For two reasons: The first it is not for any man to know the exact day for it is likely many would take advantage of having such intimate knowledge and choose to live it up waiting until the very last moment to casually profess a relationship with Christ as He was about to part the clouds. Then these same people would expect to be treated like spiritual royalty rather than fools for waiting to identify with Christ until the very last moment. Secondly, God has revealed all He desired to reveal for our learning in His Word. There is nothing left to reveal in this Age of Grace. A new understanding of spiritual things will be waiting for mankind in the eternal realm.
We can count on the imminent return of Christ. However, not one person will be given any intimate details of the time and the day this great spiritual event will take place, regardless of what you may hear a foolish person proclaim to know about the future.
