Jesus Christ Faced Every Temptation
Hebrews 4:15 (KJB) For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
God’s only Son Jesus Christ is the high priest. He was sent by the will of God to come to this world (John 3:16) in the flesh to redeem mankind. Jesus Christ is God and man in the flesh. In fact, He is a three-strong supernatural cord which cannot be compromised by the influence of sin.
He is God in heaven, a supernatural Spirit, and man (and Jesus Christ who is The Word) in the flesh.
The Bible says in 1 John 5:7 (KJB) For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
It is important to allow this truth sink into your heart and mind. Why? Because it means that God in the flesh (Jesus Christ) was present on this earth and faced EVERY temptation of satan at work on this earth today.
Oh, we like to have many excuses for the many times we precipitously fall into temptations. We like to conveniently excuse our own persuasion to repeatedly fall into sin because there is no way in this world we can give up that persistent habit, or quit eating too much, or face exasperating trials, or remain married to an unfaithful spouse, face sexual temptations, forgive another who has hurt us, and on and on our exception list grows.
Ouch, that hurts!
While it is true that we cannot ever be successful against temptation on our own, we can be eternally victorious through the supernatural power and presence of God at work in our heart. It is Him that carries us through and beyond temptation and not anything at work in our own selves.
God did face every temptation and is victorious over ALL sin.
We often conveniently forget that God already faced EVERY temptation we face each day. Temptation comes through three distinct routes: lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, and pride of life (1st John 2:16-17). Jesus Christ faced these same enticements but without sin.
Mankind has no available excuse for remaining inside his natural persuasion to sin. His only eternal recourse is to plead the blood of Jesus Christ receiving His gift of spiritual freedom from sin. Mankind can choose to live victoriously over sin by facing each and every temptation through the proven victorious power of Jesus Christ as he sojourns on this earth.
