Jesus Was in the Boat
Mark 4:38-41 (KJB) And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? 39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. 40 And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
He was in the hinder part of the boat. He is in the back of this ship, pointing to the presence of Jesus Christ. It is important to note that he was asleep amid the wind and waves of this storm. You know what we would do in this circumstance, we would be right there with Peter, wringing our hands and filled to the brim with worry.
These men had a lot to learn about facing storms. This was the first storm the disciples faced with Jesus Christ at the helm, but it would not be the last storm they would meet head-on together in this world. This storm would be the first of many weather events that got them stirred in the heart.
What about you, indeed you have faced a severe storm a time or two, both concerning the weather and in your spiritual life. Jesus is in the boat with you, relax, it will be okay. He has it all under His control and desires His best for your life.
