Just One Drop

Luke 16:22-24 (KJB) And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

How many times you have looked at your brown lawn or planted field and begged God for a little rain.

Or maybe you have visited a desert area out west and noticed how dry and thirsty the land appeared with little vegetation other than cacti thriving.

Maybe your throat is thirsty, and you desire an ice-cold glass of water after working out in the hot sun on a Summer day.

How often do you give much thought to the spiritually dry condition of this rich man in Hell?  I hope that this will open up your eyes to the utter depletion found for all lost souls who enter eternity without fellowship with God, who continue to cry out for relief.

I hope you will agree that none of the conditions above that you or I can face in this world can’t ever be compared to the hot and horrid conditions found in Hell.  The dry heat of the west, a temporary dry spell in the Midwest, and thirst cant ever be compared to conditions awaiting lost souls in the eternal address of Hell.
