Just the Kid Next Door
Mark 6:4 (KJB) But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.
Jesus returned to his own country. He was speaking about God among friends and family. These were those who were most familiar to him. These people had grown up with him, ate with him, played with him, and shared with him.
However, they did not recognize Him spiritually.
He was and is the greatest man, God, teacher, preacher, who ever lived. He was and is the most powerful man and God ever but these vital truths meant little, or nothing, to his closest neighbors and friends. In fact, they did marvel at His message, nor desire to have any eternal rewards He spoke about.
The truth was that they did not desire a spiritual revival with Him they wanted to remain hopelessly spiritually dead and dormant and living in sin. Sadly, many, of their ears were shuttered, their necks stiffened, and their hearts hardened to His message.
Quite frankly, most of His neighbors were shocked with His silly sounding eternal message about things of His Father, who was God.
But, Jesus Christ did not give up, lay down, or quit with His timely message. He kept on keeping on with speaking about God. Teaching the few who did spiritually hear with their ears and their heart wide open about the necessity of having a personal and eternal relationship with God.
