Keep On Keeping On
2 Timothy 3:14 (KJB) But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them.
One word in this verse is significant in understanding the context. That emphasis is on the word continue.
Continue, means hold tight, abide, stand spiritually tall in what you have understood about God despite your immediate state of affairs. You see, a sincere child of God does not just read about God. He or she emphasizes both the reading and learning of the Word of God, allowing it to move from their head to application in their softened heart for affecting both them and this wicked world.
The lessons God has placed inside His Word for His spiritual family are numerous. However, each is easily unfolded and put to work inside the lives of His family. The young man here in this verse, Timothy, had a great teacher of the Word, the Apostle Paul, who helped him to unravel and apply vital life lessons.
You, too, professing Christ in your heart, should be inspired to learn more and more about God and desire to follow Him as you sojourn in this world. The lessons He provides for us are not difficult, perhaps a bit painful for a time, but as young Timothy encourages, we all naturally desire to learn from scripture and to activate these heart lessons into our lives.
This world needs more Paul’s and Timothy’s to exhort and encourage professing regenerated hearts to learn and apply the life lessons given by God. I hope you are discovering and uncovering wisdom given of God and following His proven ways in this world and concerning future eternal matters.
