“Kissed” with God’s Perfect Peace

Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. (Psalm 85:10 KJV)

This verse speaks about the great unconditional love, mercy, and grace God has for His own Jewish people.  The Jewish people have been and always will be “the apple of God’s eye” and first to be given The Truth wrapped in God’s unconditional love.  Those who were spiritually enlightened, understanding the Truth, were graciously clothed in His righteousness and “kissed” with supernatural peace; the rest, by their own choice, were left spiritually blinded and naturally anxious and concerned with the affairs of this world rather than enjoying a supernatural understanding of the things of God.

This scripture verse is speaking of a time in Jewish history as recorded in the Old Testament, however, this Truth holds true for all who have been born spiritually alive in this age of grace, having the “kiss” of God’s peace lovingly placed upon their life whether they be Jew or Gentile believers in this current Age of Grace.

God’s nature, or His immutability, has never changed since the beginning.  His marvelous mercy and supernatural peace woven with other holy and fruitful characteristics, greatly surpass anything our finite human understanding can ever wrap our simple minds around or even begin to comprehend.  Therefore, even finding suitable or appropriate words to try and define or accurately describe God’s peace is a tremendous undertaking. It is a difficult task to express just how wonderful His peace really is this side of heaven.

God’s righteousness and supernatural peace work together at the advent of man’s personal Salvation placing an eternal holy “kiss” which saturates his regenerated heart with a bouquet of fruit of His Spirit.  God’s formula is simple: man cannot have His righteousness without His peace or His peace without His righteousness.  God’s presence, or the essence of His Spirit, fills the regenerated heart in every man who has turned from sin unto the holiness of God, in agreement with God’s eternal view of the dark nature of sin.  Man who does not agree with God, living in opposition to God, never repenting of his natural sin nature, cannot house the indwelling Spirit of God and be “kissed” with eternal salvation.  God’s righteousness cannot reside alongside the dark and evil nature of sin of the god of this world.

The fruit of the Spirit includes all the wonderful spiritual assets of God:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, (Galatians 5:22 KJV)

The Spirit of God is alive and kicking inside a regenerated man’s heart to supplant anxiety and needless concern to the curb allowing God’s fruit and supernatural contentment to liberate and flourish in his revived heart.  Those who are spiritually aligned with God have access to God’s personal arsenal which is absolutely necessary for battling harassment and assaults flung from the bag of tricks belonging to the god of this world.  Satan likes to cripple and maim lost souls, laying great burdens upon the weak shoulders of man forcing many lost and hurting souls to resort to crawling upon their knees in desperation. Defeat, and hopelessness, rather than standing upright and vertical being eternally strengthened by the supernatural power of God at work in them and through them.

The stalwart presence of the peace of God is our stay, or our anchor, our stronghold, our promise, the solid basis of our blessed hope of eternity.  The world filled with lost souls continues to decline, decay, and to decompose, with many things of this world falling apart all around them but those who possess the peace of God are able to languish peacefully in His presence as they sojourn on this dark and wicked earth knowing for sure upon physical death they will be found as faithful servants standing secure in the fullness of His perfect presence in the eternal realm forevermore.

The presence of God’s peace residing in side our heart comes with a responsibility in living according to God’s righteousness rather than just “play time” or “leisure time” as we “soak in” His peace.  We can enjoying the absence of overwhelming and unbearable or debilitating turmoil and strife as we live for God as we sojourn in this world.  The Bible clearly tells man to expect many trials and tribulations on their pilgrimage in this naturally wicked and sinful world.  It is the all-consuming peace of God that keeps the regenerated man sailing upright as sudden swift winds and encapsulating Tsunami waves threaten to suddenly overwhelm knocking man down and out.

For those who are unregenerate, strong winds and stormy skies add victim’s to Satan’s dark count among those existing unsaved and at the mercy of his dark agenda, living dead in their sin, without the indwelling presence of God.  They are held captive in their heart and mind by darkness and evil finding themselves tossed about and knocked down in tumultuous waves always surrounded by constant turmoil and trouble.  These people are aimlessly adrift in life without possessing a personal eternal life preserver from God securely in hand due to their lack of faith and persistent unbelief of the truth of God.  Faith in God brings His perfect peace into any situation at hand while unbelief brings constant threat of storms on the horizon.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7 KJV)

To better understand how the indwelling of God’s peace keeps the regenerated man spiritually afloat in this chaotic world first we should take time to examine the natural heart condition or auto-pilot mechanism indwelling in every man.  The Bible tells us our heart is the center of our being. It is where the “spiritual steering column” for life is housed.  Born naturally evil, each man’s heart is steered by darkness and evil emanating from the god of this world, rather than possessing the holiness and righteousness of God.  Only those who have been spiritually quickened alive do possess God’s indwelling Spirit, therefore, God’s Word tells us to keep safe or diligently guard the condition of our heart:

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. (Proverbs 4:23 KJV)

If man does not understand the importance of allowing God to handle the steering mechanism of his heart the trip he makes around life’s racetrack will always be heading toward imminent darkness and danger and holds a ticket gaining entrance straight to Hell upon succumbing to physical death in the eternal realm.  Being spiritually quickened alive and allowing God to spiritually choreograph our drive along the narrow way steers man along a pathway sprinkled with unconditional love and grace reaching the heavenly eternal realm at physical death rather than arriving on the fast track to Hell.

I cannot think of anyone who would willingly climb into a vehicle and drive themselves around on a racetrack with severely limited or non-functioning steering column with their safety placed strictly at the mercy of other drivers making laps around them. The regenerated man, however, chooses to climb behind the wheel of life jammed smack dab in the middle of numerous yellow flags being waived highlighting dangerous conditions found in the middle of the racetrack, allowing God to divinely direct his path safely and securely along the narrow way.

God’s Word promises He will direct us around any oncoming traffic in life:

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:6 KJV)

Those who are found to be in submission to the things of God will have the immense peace that surpasses human understanding as God rules and reigns at the helm of their life.  This blanket of peace covering their life ultimately requires the regenerated man willingly submit to the authority of God.  It is putting on a meek and humble posture about them as they allow God to steer and direct their life rather rising up in pride and placing God in the passenger’s seat and commanding their own way along the dangerous and foreboding racetrack of life on this earth.

But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace. (Psalm 37:11 KJV)

The Bible promises the meek and mild mannered will be surrounded with the abundance of God’s peace overflowing into every area of their surrendered life.  Yielding to God’s will and way allows His peace to bubble up and permeate life rather than constricting and choking the life out of them through ignorantly demanding their own self-will.  It is liberating and spiritually refreshing to have the power of God’s peace at work in life.

Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. (Psalm 119:165 KJV)

God’s Word says that having great spiritual peace allows the regenerated man to live with freedom.  Liberty in Christ calls for mankind to kindly and lovingly and righteously disregard insults and offenses made against him, even turning the other cheek when necessary.  Just as Jesus did as He hung upon the cross saying: “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do …” in Luke chapter 23 as Jesus succumbed to physical death on earth.  Man who possesses the character of God will live according to the spirit and will of God while he sojourns in this dark and evil world giving room for God to bring about justice to those who are aligned to the evil of the god of this world.

Jesus Christ left us with many great examples of God’s all-encompassing peace which snuggly enveloped Him as the crowds about began to hatefully turn away from being admirers and loyal followers to calling for His death like a common criminal hung upon the cross.  The crowd quickly resorted to lewdly spitting upon Him and hurling insults but Jesus chose not to be offended by their despicable words and actions, hating their dark and oppressive behavior but choosing to remain prayerfully engaged and silently enduring their dark onslaught with His eyes focused upon His Father:

He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. (Isaiah 53:7 KJV)

Jesus did not give up on God, fall apart, or tear others down, lift Himself up in pride, whine and cry for His rights, retaliate towards His oppressors, seek a lawyer, resort to drugs or alcohol, physically hurt His family, end up in financial straits, seek counseling, retort hatefully, seek financial retribution, engage others to fight for Him, ask for a physician or take medication, run away, Jesus did none of these things people commonly may choose to do in this world today when faced with tough oppression and persecution for living a righteous life modeled after the holiness of God.

When a man’s ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. (Proverbs 16:7 KJV)

God promises those who live according to His will for their life will have not only peace within our heart but outwardly as well, even our enemies will be in harmony with us.  This an aspect of His peace that is hard to comprehend.  God’s peace will cause even those who are our enemies in this world to live at peace with us.  Wow!  We ask how can that be that even those who are our enemies will seek peace with us, how can that be?

Jesus placed Himself securely inside the will of God allowing Himself to be at peace first and foremost with God, secondly to be at peace with even those who were His enemies in this world.  The book of Isiah tells us Jesus’s name from birth would be The Prince of Peace…”

Further verses to read and contemplate upon and allow to soak deeply within your heart include these which clearly articulate His inspired promises of perfect peace and calmness for His own spiritual family:

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. (Isaiah 26:3 KJV)

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. (Isaiah 45:7 KJV)

There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked. (Isaiah 48:22 KJV)

And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. (Mark 4:39 KJV)

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27 KJV)

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. (John 16:33 KJV)

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: (Romans 5:1 KJV)

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. (Romans 8:6 KJV)

For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; (Ephesians 2:14 KJV)

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7 KJV)

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: (Hebrews 12:14 KJV)

And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace. (James 3:18 KJV)

God’s peace is all consuming, all encompassing, a bondage breaker, securely wrapping the spiritual quickened alive heart in perfect harmony and spiritual fellowship with God.  It is having God’s righteousness and holiness “kissed” with the supernatural power of His peace as the regenerated soul lives according to the will and way of God upon this earth, no matter the outward circumstances, in eager anticipation of an eternal presence with God forevermore one day soon.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23 KJV)LOVE fruit of the spirit gal 5 1 222.fw
